The Gleana

(Kevin's wreck)

The remains of a vessel can be found in a sand hole to the south of the first set of Breakers south of Cross Bay Southampton

This is the remains of a schooner owned by the Lusher Brothers that sank when salvaging the wreck of the Minnie Breslauer.

Apparently they had her anchored on the Minnie when a storm sprang up. They left her there to ride out the storm and she broke loose and came to rest on the breakers near Cross Bay.

In and above the sand one can see metal parts of the vessel along with what appears to be some sheathing and iron struts laid out on the edge of the adjacent reef. As one would expect from such a dynamic area there is very little timber to be found but there could be some below the sand.
