Daisy, an endangered loggerhead turtle, rescued by two freedivers off the North Shore, and rehabilitated at BAMZ after having a fishing hook removed from its trachea, was released on 18 July near North Rock.
Before Daisy was released she was fitted with a satellite tag, so her movements could be tracked post release.
To date, the data from the tag shows that Daisy spent 5 days swimming west from near North Rock, along the edge of the Bermuda platform and then headed in a south westerly direction away from Bermuda.
Currently she is swimming south down the east coast of Florida.
The satellite tag is sponsored by the Bermuda Zoological Society and the Neil Burnie Foundation.
