Construction Permit

Construction Permit

To apply for a construction permit or operating licence for a controlled plant, you must complete an application and submit it with the appropriate free.

Dog Licence

Dog Licence

Anyone keeping a dog must hold a licence for that dog. You must be at least 18 years old to apply for a dog licence. Licences are renewable each year.

Foreign Sports Fishing Vessel Licence

Any sports fishing vessel coming to Bermuda must apply for a licence from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources. The application should be submitted a week before arrival into Bermuda.

Recreational Lobster Diving Licence

Recreational Lobster Diving Licence

To dive for lobsters in Bermuda, you need a Recreational Lobster Diving Licence from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.

Lobster diving licences will only be issued to Bermuda residents.

Only registered refrigerant handlers are permitted to carry out installations, repairs and servicing of air conditioning and refrigerant equipment

You must submit an application for scientific research activities is you intend to conduct any research on any of Bermuda’s plant and animal species.

To spearfish in Bermuda, you need a Spearfishing Licence from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources

Spearfishing licences will only be issued to Bermuda residents.

You must apply for a water right before constructing a well or borehole. You need approval from the Bermuda Environmental Authority before the well or borehole can be constructed.

Wreck Investigation Licence

You will need a Wrecks Investigation Licence from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources to conduct archaeological and scientific examinations of historic wrecks in Bermuda. Applications are reviewed by the Historic Wrecks Authority (HWA).

Protected Species Permit for Relocation or Destruction

Protected Species Permit for Relocation or Destruction

A permit can be issued for one-time activities that would otherwise be prohibited by the Protected Species Act. The permit allows for the relocation of a species and/or destruction that cannot be avoided. For example, if the species presents a risk to human health and safety. You can be fined up to $25,000 or get two years in prison if you don’t have a permit.

Permits will be given on a case-by-case basis as part of the planning process for the installation of utilities, trenching for cables, establishment of moorings, and building of structures.
